Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Platforms & Services team. You will analyze, design, develop, and maintain software for our cloud-based SaaS solutions, focusing on Java and Angular, REST APIs, and scalable architectures.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help drive IAM governance initiatives while delivering robust software systems for mission-critical public safety and enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development with a strong emphasis on Java and Angular.
• Proficient in both Frontend and Backend with a good knowledge of the ecosystems.
• Solid understanding and experience with REST API development and Web Services.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement robust and scalable software systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
• Must be proactive, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain Java and Angular based applications with high performance and responsiveness.

• Mentor junior software engineers, conduct code reviews, and provide guidance to improve quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of software solutions.
• Drive organization-wide strategy and implementation plans including Privileged Access Management, Single Sign-On and IAM governance.

Department Overview

The Core Platforms & Services team is responsible for the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, in support of Motorola Solutions' public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. This team is part of Motorola Solution’s Video & Software division, which offers secure, reliable and efficient team communications, workflow and operational intelligence solutions for mission critical public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world. Our services leverage Cloud Computing infrastructure on Azure, AWS and GCP to build at scale.

Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer at Motorola Solutions, you will be an integral member of our software development team, responsible for analyzing, developing, designing, and maintaining software for the organization’s innovative products and systems. You will work on complex projects that require a high level of technical proficiency and creativity.

Key Responsibilities
