Job summary

Emerson in Bengaluru, India seeks a software engineer to develop, test, and maintain real-time Linux-based modules in C/C++, with focus on high-performance, multicore systems and near-kernel components via POSIX APIs, threading, and IPC.

You will join a collaborative team, participate in code reviews, and create documentation. Required: 2–5 years of C/C++ with POSIX/Linux, RTOS concepts, multithreading, and debugging (GDB/Valgrind). Git experience and CI/CD familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2-5 years of experience in software development using C/C++.
  • Hands-on experience with POSIX/Unix/Linux development (user space or system-level).
  • Understanding of real-time programming concepts (RTOS, scheduling, latency constraints).
  • Familiarity with multithreading, synchronization primitives, and IPC mechanisms.
  • Strong debugging skills using GDB, Valgrind, perf, or similar.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Scripting experience (Python, Bash) for automation or build tooling.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and build systems (CMake, Make).
  • Automotive and/or automation domain know how
  • Exposure to agile development or DevOps practices
