Overview

Software Engineer I role at Blue Yonder. You will work on different areas of the system that makes up a complete TMS system. You will contribute to architectural designs and implementations, and be challenged to learn new technologies to improve designs and products.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritize your work with input from your lead or manager.
• Demonstrate problem-solving and innovation in software development and maintenance tasks.
• Participate in code and design reviews.
• Perform application deployments to different environments.
• Create test plans and test cases and work with QA teams to validate test automation tools for the software.
• Lead the development of a feature or part of a feature from start to finish.
• Design or adapt front-end to back-end support for features.
• Write unit tests, integration tests, and verify code quality prior to contributing to the code repository.
• Work in a self-organized agile team and interact with team members on release deliverables.
• Participate in backlog grooming, planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Improve readability and maintainability of code and continuously improve themselves and the code they produce.

What You’ll Do

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Information Systems, or demonstrated equivalent 1-3 years of Java backend development using microservices.
• Good understanding of software development practices and life cycle.
• Mandatory: Java, Spring Boot.
• Mandatory: API or microservices development.
• Mandatory: Object-Oriented design and concepts.
• Exposure to public clouds such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps concepts.
• Databases: SQL and any NoSQL.
• Eager to learn and quick to pick up new technologies and designs.
• Would like to work in a full-stack development environment.
• Self-organized with minimal supervision.
• Ability to take a feature to completion with stakeholders.
• Focus on quality and willingness to write automated tests to ensure scalability.
