Job description

We are looking for a hands‑on Java engineer with 2–6 years of experience to design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and high‑performance services. You’ll work with Spring Boot and microservices, deliver APIs and integrations, ensure code quality through automated testing and CI/CD, and collaborate closely across product, QA, DevOps, and architecture.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

Design and develop clean, maintainable Java code using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
Build, publish, and consume RESTful APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger) and integrate with internal and external systems.
Write comprehensive unit, integration, and contract tests (JUnit5, Mockito, Testcontainers, Pact) and conduct peer code reviews.
Optimize services for reliability, scalability, and performance (JVM/GC tuning, SQL tuning, caching).
Participate in Agile/Scrum rituals and mentor junior engineers.

Required Qualifications

Java11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Data/JPA (Hibernate), Spring Cloud.
Microservices architecture, RESTful API design, OpenAPI/Swagger.
Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL or Oracle; schema design and query optimization.
Messaging experience with Kafka or IBMMQ.
Build & CI/CD: Maven/Gradle, Git, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLabCI, AzureDevOps).
Containers & Cloud basics: Docker, Kubernetes.
Testing: JUnit5, Mockito, Testcontainers, static analysis tools (SonarQube, Checkstyle/PMD/SpotBugs).
Security: OAuth2.0 / OpenIDConnect, Spring Security, secure coding practices.
Soft skills: problem‑solving, communication, independent and collaborative work.
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

Reactive programming with ProjectReactor, SpringWebFlux.
API Gateways: Kong, Apigee, SpringCloudGateway and rate limiting.
Contract testing with Pact; infrastructure as code (Helm).
Domain experience in payments/financial services; exposure to GraphQL, gRPC, event sourcing.
Basic front‑end familiarity (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
