Job summary

Securonix is seeking a Java-focused software engineer in Maharashtra to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Java applications. You will work on RESTful APIs and microservices, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable security software.

The role requires 2–4 years of hands-on Java experience with Spring Boot and microservices, DB familiarity (MySQL/MariaDB/PostgreSQL), and proficiency with Maven/Gradle, Git, CI/CD, and container tech (Docker/Kubernetes).

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of hands-on Java development with Spring Boot and microservices.
• Experience with relational DBs (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL) and SQL development.
• Proficient with build tools (Maven/Gradle), Git and basic CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with unit/integration testing (JUnit/Mockito/TestNG).
• Exposure to containerization with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud basics.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Java applications.
• Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA engineers, and cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and implement solutions.
• Develop and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues in development and production environments.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for efficient software delivery.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for implemented features.
• Stay up to date with modern Java technologies, AI‑assisted development tools, and industry best practices.

Required Skills

• 2–4 years of hands‑on experience in Java development, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Strong understanding of Core Java, including Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP), Collections, Exception Handling, Multithreading, and Java design principles.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL), including SQL development and database fundamentals.
• Hands‑on experience with build and development tools, including Maven or Gradle, Git (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket), and a basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, or TestNG, with a good understanding of unit and integration testing practices.
• Basic knowledge of containerization and cloud technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience using AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Claude to improve developer productivity.
• Basic understanding of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), including prompt engineering and AI‑assisted software development workflows.
• Familiarity with integrating AI/LLM services using REST APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini) is preferred.
• Strong understanding of web technologies and API communication, including JSON, HTTP, and API integration patterns.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, and a willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving business needs.
