BP in India seeks a senior hands-on AWS Backend Developer to design, build, and scale agentic AI systems on AWS. You will own backend services, integrate LLMs with secure and cost-efficient patterns, and deliver production-grade, observable, and compliant systems for mission-critical use cases.

You will mentor engineers, lead end-to-end projects, implement test automation, and collaborate with security, data, and enterprise teams to meet regulatory audits and design controls.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years building production backend systems; 5+ years hands-on with AWS
• Solid understanding of AWS core services and newer AWS technologies
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures
• Familiar with AWS Well-Architected Framework and security best practices
• Experience partnering with security, governance, and compliance teams
• Hands-on contribution to design, coding and implementation of backend services on AWS
• Ability to lead projects end-to-end and mentor other engineers
• Experience preparing for and participating in security and regulatory audits

Role Synopsis

We're seeking a senior hands-on AWS Backend Developer with deep cloud architecture expertise and hands-on AI experience to design, build, and scale agentic AI systems. The candidate will own backend services on AWS, integrate LLMs via secure and cost-efficient patterns, and deliver production-grade, observable, and compliant systems for mission-critical use cases.

Key Accountabilities

• Design and document sophisticated software components, services, and platforms
• Implement robust and maintainable code with clear and maintained documentation
• Deliver customer value in iterative fashion while working towards longer term systems to solve roadmap goals with increasing efficiency
• Serve as a technical lead and own projects end-to-end
• Communicate status and changes to the work they are responsible and accountable for, keep all stakeholders informed of changes and updates to original plan
• Design test automation on all code implemented through unit testing and integration testing
• Work with internal and external teams to bring new platforms to market
• Maintain and enhance software frameworks for development
• Serve as a technical mentor for other engineers on the team
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve platform-related issues
• Support internal and external audit teams to prepare for and participate in security, software licensing, and regulatory audits, ensuring that all necessary documentation and evidence is available and accurate
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new controls and procedures to address identified compliance gaps or risks

Essential Education

Bachelor / Master degree in computer science or equivalent experience

Essential Experience and Job Requirements

• 7-10+ years building production backend systems; 5+ years hands-on with AWS
• Solid understanding and experience in AWS core services and emerging AWS technologies such as AWS AgentCore.
• Compute:

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing microservices and event-driven architectures
• Understanding and experience implementing AWS Well-Architected Framework
• AWS certifications highly valued.
• Work effectively with various customer enterprise teams (security, AI governance, data platforms etc) to obtain required approvals and sign-off on solution designs.
• Design & Build Agentic Backends : Define low level solution designs and implement backend services that orchestrate agent workflows using AWS primitives and AI frameworks.
• Orchestration & Workflows : Implement robust orchestration for multi-step agent pipelines, including retries, timeouts, and compensating actions.
• APIs & services: Build and integrate with secure, low-latency APIs and event-driven microservices with AWS services
• Collaboration : Partner closely with a highly skilled, tight-knit team and work cross-functionally with security, data, data science, UX and customer enterprise platform teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Hands on - The candidate must be fully hands-on, actively contributing to coding, design, and implementation of backend services and AWS solutions.

Desirable criteria

• Experience in Trading systems or ETRMs (Energy Trading & Risk Management).
• Operational experience of running business critical systems.
