Job summary

BytesBrains is seeking a software engineer to design and ship production services behind Cruise, domains, and email, with the majority of work agent-facing and human-facing. You will own features end to end, using coding agents daily and shipping through pull requests like the rest of the team.

You will write tests, review agent-generated changes with the same bar as human ones, and work in GitHub daily with CI as the default path to production, ensuring robust, readable releases.

• Daily fluency with GitHub version management: branches, pull requests, reviews, and basic CI.

About the role

You will build and operate the systems behind BytesBrains’ products — Cruise, domains, business email, and the hiring platform agents already call. Much of the work is agent-facing as well as human-facing: clear contracts, structured errors, and flows that do not depend on a UI-only path. You will own features end to end, using coding agents every day and shipping through pull requests like the rest of the team.

What you will need

• Daily fluency with GitHub version management: branches, pull requests, reviews, and basic CI
• Working knowledge of operating systems, VMs, and containers — enough to reason about how software runs in production
• Solid software design habits: SOLID, DRY, modular boundaries, and readable diffs
• Clear written communication — agents and humans both read what you leave behind

Nice to have

• OpenAPI-first or service-API design for external (including agent) callers
• Payments, domains, email, or other money-adjacent systems
• Experience owning a feature from design through deploy and support
