Job summary

Cohere Health is seeking a skilled software engineer to contribute to its Clinical Intelligence team in Hyderabad. You will build full stack web applications, implement AI/ML-driven workflows, and maintain high standards in design and development.

The role emphasizes ownership of the end-to-end SDLC in a fast-paced startup environment. You will work with Java/Groovy or Python, React, and cloud services (AWS/Azure), plus modern testing frameworks and databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, software engineering, or equivalent.
• 4–6 years in full lifecycle software development.
• Proficiency with Java/Groovy or Python.
• Experience with React/JavaScript; TypeScript is a plus.
• Cloud development with AWS/Azure.
• Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Cypress, Jest, Mocha, Cucumber).
• Relational and NoSQL datastores; data access patterns.
• Strong ownership of the SDLC; fast-paced mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy full stack web applications.
• Collaborate with product and design to deliver high-quality UX for healthcare practitioners.
• Own design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

Opportunity Overview:

This is a unique opportunity to join our rapidly growing Clinical Intelligence team, where you’ll work on building impactful healthcare technologies that streamline and optimize the prior authorization process using AI/ML and Advanced Rules Engines.

What you’ll do:

• Contribute to the functional & technical roadmap for the team, working alongside cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact deterministic rules-based and AI-driven healthcare automation solutions.
• Actively support the technical design process, bringing your expertise and analysis to help make data-driven decisions
• Continuously discover, understand, and implement new technologies & services to maximize development efficiency
• Contribute heavily to feature design, development, testing, and delivery of our cloud platform and web applications
• Support all parts of our platform from the database to the frontend
• Drive daily engineering release once 2-4 times a month
• Perform production support duties 1-2 times a year.

ISMS roles and responsibilities:

• Good knowledge of Information practices.
• Assist the manager in all the information security activities implementation and maintenance process.
• Ensuring the team and imparted with Competence related to Information security
• Responsible for implementation of security policies and procedures and report any issues to the Information Security Manager.

What we looking for:

• You have experience working on software development teams, building and deploying full stack web applications
• You are passionate about building quality products and want to own product development end-to-end, with excellent design and development standards
• You can collaborate closely with teammates in product and design to build applications providing healthcare practitioners with the highest quality user experience
• You have experience with common software development practices such as version control, unit testing, and CI/CD
• You are a team player and are interested in working at a fast-paced startup environment

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, software engineering, or equivalent experience in the field.
• Minimum of 4 - 6 years of full time experience in software development lifecycle, required Proficiency with Java/Groovy or Python
• Experience building applications using React and Javascript. TypeScript is a plus
• Familiarity with cloud development AWS/Azure
• Hands on experience leveraging test frameworks such as Cypress, Jest, Mocha, JUnit, or Cucumber is a plus, but not required
• Experience using relational (MySql, Postgres) and NoSQL (Dynamo, Elastic, Mongo) datastores along with data access patterns and strategies.
• Ability to demonstrate a high level of ownership for the entire SDLC, including designing, building, testing, deploying and supporting production services in a fast-paced environment.
• Be self-starter requiring minimal direction with ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities and requirements
• Prior experience in healthcare and life sciences is a plus, but is not required

• Integrating AI/LLM-based systems into product workflows.
• Open source or community projects.
• Designing or implementing agent based systems or AI products involving autonomous or task-driven agents.
