Job summary

Cohere Health, based in Hyderabad, is transforming prior authorization with AI/ML and rules engines. We are building a clinical intelligence platform that streamlines payer-provider decision-making and improves care.

This role focuses on full stack development, cloud platforms, and delivering high-quality, scalable healthcare solutions. You will join a fast-paced startup-like team, collaborating with product and design to deliver healthcare applications with strong UX and robust testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, software engineering, or equivalent.
• 4–6 years of full-time software development lifecycle experience.
• Proficiency with Java/Groovy or Python.
• Experience building applications using React and JavaScript (TypeScript is a plus).
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure cloud development.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL datastores.
• Strong ownership of the SDLC in a fast-paced environment.
• Healthcare/Life Sciences experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the roadmap for full stack web applications and AI-driven automation solutions.
• Support technical design with data-driven decisions.
• Continuously adopt new technologies to improve development efficiency.
• Contribute to design, development, testing, and delivery of cloud platform and web apps.
• Support all platform layers from database to frontend.
• Drive regular releases 2–4 times per month.
• Perform production support 1–2 times per year.
• Implement information security practices and policies as part of ISMS responsibilities.

Opportunity Overview:

Cohere Health is at the forefront of leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to transform prior authorization, shifting from transaction-based processes to creating elevated care journeys. By integrating AI into healthcare decisioning, we aim to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ultimately enhance patient care. This is a unique opportunity to join our rapidly growing Clinical Intelligence team, where you'll work on building impactful healthcare technologies that streamline and optimize the prior authorization process using AI/ML and Advanced Rules Engines.

What you'll do:

• Contribute to the functional & technical roadmap for the team, working alongside cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact deterministic rules-based and AI-driven healthcare automation solutions.
• Actively support the technical design process, bringing your expertise and analysis to help make data-driven decisions
• Continuously discover, understand, and implement new technologies & services to maximize development efficiency
• Contribute heavily to feature design, development, testing, and delivery of our cloud platform and web applications
• Support all parts of our platform from the database to the frontend
• Drive daily engineering release once 2-4 times a month
• Perform production support duties 1-2 times a year.

ISMS roles and responsibilities:

• Good knowledge of Information practices.
• Assist the manager in all the information security activities implementation and maintenance process.
• Ensuring the team and imparted with Competence related to Information security
• Responsible for implementation of security policies and procedures and report any issues to the Information Security Manager.

What we looking for:

• You have experience working on software development teams, building and deploying full stack web applications
• You are passionate about building quality products and want to own product development end-to-end, with excellent design and development standards
• You can collaborate closely with teammates in product and design to build applications providing healthcare practitioners with the highest quality user experience
• You have experience with common software development practices such as version control, unit testing, and CI/CD
• You are a team player and are interested in working at a fast-paced startup environment

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, software engineering, or equivalent experience in the field.
• Minimum of 4 - 6 years of full time experience in software development lifecycle, required Proficiency with Java/Groovy or Python
• Experience building applications using React and Javascript. TypeScript is a plus
• Familiarity with cloud development AWS/Azure
• Hands on experience leveraging test frameworks such as Cypress, Jest, Mocha, JUnit, or Cucumber is a plus, but not required
• Experience using relational (MySql, Postgres) and NoSQL (Dynamo, Elastic, Mongo) datastores along with data access patterns and strategies.
• Ability to demonstrate a high level of ownership for the entire SDLC, including designing, building, testing, deploying and supporting production services in a fast-paced environment.
• Be self-starter requiring minimal direction with ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities and requirements
• Prior experience in healthcare and life sciences is a plus, but is not required
