Job summary

Anaplan in Gurugram is seeking a Platform Engineer to advance Kubernetes automation and scalable microservices. You will implement operators, control plane logic, and storage strategies for a high‑scale SaaS product.

Required are 4–6 years in Go or Java, strong cloud observability skills, and experience with Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana. Join a team pushing performance, reliability, and innovation.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 4-6 years programming experience in Golang or Java.
• Proven experience building and operating a SaaS product at scale.
• Cloud experience using observability and operating workloads in Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud storage S3, NFS, NetApp OnTap, AWS FSx.
• Distributed systems and programming techniques.
• Monitoring and metrics infrastructure (OTEL, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Bonus: Experience with AI/ML, Natural Language.

Responsibilities

• Kubernetes Engineering & Automation: write Helm charts or YAML manifests and extend the Kubernetes API.
• Custom Operators: write Kubernetes Operators with Kubebuilder/Operator SDK to manage complex lifecycles.
• Control Plane Logic: automate reconciliation loops, CRDs and operational knowledge into code.
• Scalable Microservices & Distributed Systems: build for high concurrency, low latency, and eventual consistency.
• Deep‑Tier Cloud Storage & Persistence: understand storage internals and manage data across hybrid environments.
• Operational Maturity (SRE DNA): monitor everything, instrument with OpenTelemetry, and scale Prometheus & Grafana.

What you will be doing:

Kubernetes Engineering & Automation

• Write Helm charts or YAML manifests and extend the Kubernetes API.
• Custom Operators: Prove ability to write Kubernetes Operators using Kubebuilder or Operator SDK to manage complex stateful application lifecycles.
• Control Plane Logic: Deep understanding of reconciliation loops, CRDs and automation of operational knowledge into code.

Scalable Microservices & Distributed Systems

• Build for high concurrency, low latency and eventual consistency.
• Experience building and operating production‑grade SaaS products for 4+ years; scaling to millions of requests.
• Advanced proficiency in Go or JVM languages focusing on memory‑efficient, thread‑safe code.

Deep‑Tier Cloud Storage & Persistence

• Understanding of storage internals: performance characteristics, limitations, cost drivers of S3, NFS, NetApp OnTap, AWS FSx.
• Experience managing data persistence across hybrid environments (Public Cloud vs. Private DC).

Operational Maturity (SRE DNA)

• Belief that “if it isn’t monitored, it doesn’t exist.”
• Instrumentation: Expert with OpenTelemetry; design telemetry for deep‑dive distributed tracing and root‑cause analysis.
• Observability infrastructure: Hands‑on experience scaling Prometheus and Grafana to handle high‑cardinality data.
