Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a software engineer to design, prototype, and develop moderately complex software for semiconductor equipment components and devices.

The role involves creating reusable modules, documenting tests, and troubleshooting issues while coordinating with customers on requirements and schedules. The candidate will work with a team on multiple products, applying knowledge of C++, operating systems, networking, algorithms and multi-threading to deliver reliable software

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field (computer science, information management, software/system engineering, cyber security or mathematics).
• Proficiency in C++, Operating Systems, Networking principles, Algorithms and Multi-threading.

• Design, prototype and develop moderately complex software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices.
• Designs common software modules and libraries for use across multiple products.
• Develop software documentation and test procedures.
• Troubleshoot a variety of moderately difficult software problems; design and implement bug fixes.
• Communicate with internal and external customers for requirement analysis, project schedule and software troubleshooting.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as computer science, information management, software/system engineering, cyber security or mathematics 3–5 years of related experience
• Proficiency in C++, Operating Systems, Networking principles, Algorithms, Multi-threading

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong conceptual knowledge of software engineering and a willingness to expand your capabilities
• A solid understanding of the industry’s key business drivers
