Job summary

Atlas is building the accounting firm of the future, embedding AI in every workflow. You will build AI agents and automation pipelines to reduce grunt work for accountants, enabling them to advise clients.

You’ll work directly with PMs and founders, picking up domain context quickly and challenging requirements when needed. We seek a 3+ year full-stack engineer proficient in Django/DRF, ReactJS, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and AI tooling (LangChain, OpenAI/Anthropic).

• Experience building B2B SaaS products with multi-tenant data models and RBAC.

Accounting is a half a trillion dollars global industry, with the US alone worth more than 150 billion annually. It is one of the most critical functions for every business it serves. And yet, for all the recent hype around AI, most of the profession still runs on manual work.

At Atlas, we are looking to change this dynamic. We want to build the accounting firm of the future, where AI is embedded natively in each workflow and helps accountants spend less time on grunt work and more time advising their clients. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform one of the world’s largest and most important professions.

We have raised $6mm in seed funding from Accel and Stellaris, and have strong early momentum that we are looking to double down on.

About the role

We are solving a hard technical problem: creating an efficient frontier of human and AI workers, in a space where the margin for error is zero, the breadth of work is immense and the nature of work is dynamic.

You build the core product: AI agents and automation pipelines that take real work off accountants' plates. You move fast using AI tools, but every line that reaches production, you can explain. No black-box vibe-coding; you own what you ship.

You'll work directly with the PMs and founders, pick up domain context quickly, and challenge requirements when the technical path doesn't make sense - not just execute tickets.

What we’re looking for

Core Stack:

• 3+ years building and shipping production software as a full-stack engineer
• Required: Django/DRF, ReactJS, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, Celery + Redis
• AI / Orch: LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, RAG pipelines, structured outputs
• Nice to have: Document OCR, AWS/GCP, Docker, Unstructured.io, Temporal/Prefect

Domain & Product:

• Experience building B2B SaaS products with multi-tenant data models, RBAC, and audit trails
• Prior exposure to tax, accounting, or financial document processing is a strong plus
• Clean API design with sensible contracts and clear error handling
• Writes tests for the hard parts - AI pipeline logic, document parsing edge cases, multi-step agent flows
• Fluent with AI coding tools and can build multi-step chains, tool-calling agents, or RAG systems in production
