Job summary

Texas Instruments Incorporated in Bengaluru is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop real-time software for DLP Controllers, integrating with hardware, optics and mechanics across industrial, automotive and display end equipment.

You will work with TI teams and customers through the full software life cycle, including requirements, testing, integration, release management, and QA, with opportunities to apply machine learning to edge applications.

Responsibilities

• Requirements definition, design, development, test, integration, and support of embedded software (OS, drivers, libraries) and development tools (compilers, IDEs, simulators).
• Follow established software development methodologies defined for the business.
• Develop and apply machine learning algorithms to edge applications in embedded software.
• Support pre-silicon design requirements and software validation activities.
• Assess how software usage impacts hardware architecture in terms of performance and reuse.
• Create and maintain customer collateral for software products and deliverables.
• Collaborate with TI silicon, hardware, and software teams and customers across the life cycle.
• Oversee quality assurance and configuration/release management.

The DLP Products Organization has openings for Embedded Software Engineer. In this role, you'll design and develop real-time SW to control our family of DLP Controllers. You'll write code that tells the Controller how to operate in revolutionary new ways. You will work closely with other functions like systems, applications engineering, marketing to collaborate and solve business problems. If you are passionate about embedded systems & software, this is the place to be as you get to work on a complete system that has electronics, optics and mechanics that has its applications across Industrial, Automotive and Display end equipment.

In addition, software engineers might work directly with customers on any issues that arise and deliver on-going support along with regular software releases, which includes quality assurance and release management activities.

As a Software Engineer, some of your responsibilities may include:

• Requirements definition, design, development, test, integration, and support of embedded software (e.g. operating system software, device drivers, software frameworks, algorithmic libraries etc.) and software development tools (compilers, simulators, IDEs, etc.)
• Following established software development methodology and practices defined for the business
• Developing and applying machine learning algorithms to edge applications, which may include using AI coding assistant to develop embedded software
• Supporting pre-silicon design and requirements as well as software validation activities
• Impacting hardware architecture requirements from a software usage, compatibility, performance, and reuse potential perspectives
• Creating and maintaining customer collateral for software products and deliverables
• Working closely with TI teams (silicon, hardware, software teams) and customers as part of the normal software life-cycle
• Quality assurance and configuration/release management
