Job summary

Hitachi Vantara is seeking an experienced software test engineer to design and implement comprehensive automated test strategies across multiple components and systems. You will lead a team, mentor junior testers, and drive quality across the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities include building and maintaining automated test suites, performing functional, non-functional, API, and UI testing, collaborating with product and development teams, and staying current with emerging testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in CS or related technical field.
• 5–9 years of progressive software test engineering experience with automation.
• Proficiency with at least one programming language for test automation.
• Strong knowledge of Selenium/Cypress/Playwright and testing types.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Jira or Azure DevOps and test management tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various software components and systems.
• Lead and mentor junior test engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering best practices in software quality assurance.
• Automate testing processes using various tools and frameworks, including developing and maintaining automated test suites.
• Perform functional, regression, performance, integration, and user acceptance testing across the software development lifecycle.
• Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Collaborate with product management, development, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and define testing scope.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies, processes, and tools.
• Analyze test results, generate reports, and provide insightful feedback to improve product quality and development efficiency.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging testing technologies, tools, and industry trends.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking infrastructure, including Layer 2/Layer 3 switches, VLANs, routing, and network security settings, to support integrated software, hardware, and industrial system testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5- 9 years of progressive experience in software development test engineering, with a strong focus on automation.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript) for test automation development.
• Extensive experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG).
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and quality assurance principles.
• Experience with various testing types, including functional, non-functional, API, and UI testing.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) and test management tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, complex environment.
• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including managed switches, VLANs, TCP/IP networking, routing, and related connectivity technologies in development, test, or production environments.
• Experience with object storage technologies, data lake house architectures, and modern data platforms used to support analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven solutions.
• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, data engineering concepts, and validation of data pipelines, models, and AI-enabled applications.
