Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Amazon seeks an experienced engineering leader to shape the strategy for FaaS back-office finance systems and guide multi-tier web services that power Amazon-scale operations. You will mentor teams, design secure, scalable architectures, and partner with product management to deliver reliable financial data platforms.
The role emphasizes data-driven decisions, cross-functional collaboration, and adopting cutting-edge technologies including AI/LLMs to enhance the product stack.
Amazon built world-class finance and accounting machinery to run its own business at scale. Finance as a Service (FaaS) is turning that machinery into a product: end-to-end back-office finance and accounting, delivered to sellers and partners as a service. Customers get Amazon-grade accuracy, controllership, and compliance without building it themselves. We run accounts payable, accounts receivable, record-to-report, and tax operations for a growing roster customers today.
The systems that power FaaS today are highly specialized, built to run Amazon's own books and in many ways add odds what other businesses really want and need. FaaS as a product will benefit from an operations stack built with multi-tenancy, data isolation, multi-auditor control support built into its foundation from the start. FaaS must scale from large multinationals down to small local business, and its technology must be similarly geared. Scaling FaaS into a durable business requires a deliberate long-term strategy, and this includes the technology that powers it.
