Job summary

Lever, Inc. in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Software Development Lead to drive the design and development of scalable Java microservices using Spring Boot 3.x and Spring Cloud.

You will lead REST API design, integrate Kafka-based messaging, and deploy services on AWS EKS with Helm, ensuring security and high availability. The role requires 5–7 years of hands-on experience, mentoring junior developers, and delivering robust enterprise integrations with Salesforce and Magento.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/IT/SE.
• AWS Developer or Solutions Architect certs are preferred.
• Java SE certification (OCP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of scalable Java microservices with Spring Boot 3.x and Spring Cloud.
• Implement and optimize RESTful APIs on Java 17 for performance and security.
• Architect and maintain event-driven systems using Apache Kafka (DLT, idempotency).
• Deploy, monitor, and operate services on AWS EKS with Helm (RDS/MySQL, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, Cognito).
• Model relational data with JPA/Hibernate; apply Flyway migrations.
• Integrate enterprise systems (Salesforce, Magento, payments) for interoperability.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines and observability (OpenTelemetry, Micrometer); enforce secure-by-default practices.
• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews.

Job requirements

Experience Range: With 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience building production Java microservices, including strong expertise in Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Cloud, and REST API design on Java 17.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable Java microservices using Spring Boot 3.x and Spring Cloud, driving architectural decisions and code quality.
• Implement and optimize RESTful APIs on Java 17, ensuring high performance, security, and adherence to industry standards.
• Architect and maintain event-driven systems utilizing Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, DLT patterns, and idempotency mechanisms, to support reliable messaging workflows.
• Deploy, monitor, and operate services on AWS EKS with Helm, managing infrastructure components such as RDS/MySQL, DynamoDB, ElastiCache (Redis), and Cognito for high availability.
• Model relational data and manage persistence layers with JPA/Hibernate and Flyway migrations, ensuring transactional integrity and data consistency.
• Integrate complex enterprise systems including Salesforce, Magento, and payment gateway solutions to enable seamless interoperability and data exchange.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, implement observability using OpenTelemetry and Micrometer, and enforce secure-by-default development practices to ensure system reliability.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the development team.
