Job summary

AMD is seeking a Software Development Engineer to work on OP-TEE and U-boot, focusing on performance and driver development for ARM-based SoCs in Hyderabad, India. You will collaborate with architecture teams and contribute to next-generation embedded software.

The role requires 7–10 years in C programming and embedded Linux driver work, strong debugging skills, and experience with Petalinux, Vivado, Vitis, and GitHub. You will drive bring-up activities and partner with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in U-boot/OP-TEE/Linux driver or embedded driver development.
• 7–10 years in C programming.
• Strong knowledge of ARM-based SoCs.
• Good debugging skills.
• Experience with scripting and AMD tools like Petalinux, Vivado, Vitis.
• Experience with GitHub and profilers.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Debugging/fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work.
• Develop technical relationships with peers and partners.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER -- OP-TEE/C/U-BOOT

THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a specialized software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with AMD's architecture specialists to improve future products
• Apply a data minded approach to target optimization efforts
• Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to algorithms and architecture
• The engineers primary development activity is to work on development of U-boot and OP-TEE.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 7 to 10 years experience in U-boot driver development or OP-TEE driver or Linux Drivers Development or embedded driver experience.
• 7 to 10 years experience in C programming.
• Good System Level knowledge of ARM based SOCs.
• Good debugging skills.
• Usage of scripting and AMD (classic Xilinx) Tools like Petalinux, Vivado, Vitis is an as added advantage
• Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
