Job summary

Zillow India is seeking an experienced iOS Engineer who sets high standards and mentors others. You will lead the technology stack to build robust, scalable mobile apps and partner with Android teams to deliver integrated solutions.

You’ll work in a cross-functional, agile environment, delivering feature-rich iOS applications, collaborating with product managers, designers, and testers to meet user expectations and business goals.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of iOS experience with Swift/SwiftUI.
• 6+ years of overall software experience and ability to deliver quality code on deadlines.
• Experience collaborating with product, design, and service teams to shape the product.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own parts of the iOS technology stack to build robust, scalable apps.
• Mentor and grow other engineers across teams.
• Develop world-class mobile applications using latest iOS technologies and patterns.
• Implement client-side features and server APIs to support mobile functionality.
• Collaborate with agile cross-functional teams (developers, testers, designers, PMs) to deliver value.

About The Role

We are looking for a strong iOS Engineer who holds their code to high standards and who is not afraid to give feedback on the product.

• Customer focus and comfortability with cross-functional partnerships is a huge plus. You should be able to lead the teams’ technology stack to ensure we’re building more robust, scalable, and operable systems. Our ideal candidate is also a technical leader who is passionate about mentorship and growing the potential of others.
• We embrace agile software development practices, and believe deeply in building teams composed of all skills needed to deliver value (SDE, PM, SDM, SQE, Design, DE, etc).
• We have a couple teams working to give people the power to manage and ingest lots of media and data. Looking for an engineer that can help lead the teams’ technology stacks to ensure we’re building the more robust, scalable, and affordable systems. Our ideal candidate is also a technical leader who has a real passion for mentoring and growing the potential of others.
• Work on the latest iOS technologies and architectural patterns to develop world-class mobile applications .
• Contribute to outstanding full-stack mobile application development from concept to launch
• Implement client-side features and server APIs and services to support planned mobile functionality
• Collaborate with an agile cross-team of developers, testers, designers & program managers to build features that engage our users and understand their outstanding expectations
• Consistently deliver performant, testable, scalable, highly-readable code using OO best practices

This role has been categorized as an Office position. “Office” employees regularly work at the Zillow India office for approximately 80 to 100 percent of their time each month. Employees must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. Zillow has not defined a reasonable distance, and expects employees will use judgment in determining this for themselves and understand the implications re: time commitment and cost of daily commute.

In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role are eligible for incentive compensation subject to applicable laws and relevant Zillow policies. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

• BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) and 6+ yrs of experience
• BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) and 3+ yrs of experience
• 3+ years of iOS experience (Strong knowledge of Swift as well as SwiftUI)
• Ability to include and work closely with other engineers and other teams, most notably individuals in Android roles.
• Experience delivering quality code on a deadline
• Strong experience profiling for optimizing performance and resource utilization.
• The ability to work well with product management, design, services to shape and define product
• Experience with Agile development processes
• The ability to work well in a team setting
