Job summary

Dymon Asia Capital in Bengaluru seeks a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a distributed QA organization. You will work with Singaporean and Bengaluru teams across the full SDLC of enterprise financial applications, focusing on automation, API validation, and CI/CD integration.

The role requires 6–10 years of testing experience, proficiency in Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript, and a strong background in financial domain workflows including FIX messaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 6–10 years of hands-on experience in software testing and test automation.
• Expertise in Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript) with scalable POM-based framework.
• Strong programming in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, and Java with REST API testing.
• Financial domain testing experience, including trading, risk, or capital markets workflows (FIX).
• Git-based version control and CI/CD integration experience.
• Agile/Scrum environment experience with a quality- and automation-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive manual, API, functional, integration, regression, and automation testing for enterprise financial applications.

• Design test strategies and manage test execution across releases using Jira, Confluence, and Tricentis qTest.

Our Bengaluru Quality Engineering team partners with Singapore-based trading, risk, and technology teams to support mission-critical platforms, including our multi-asset trading (DART) and execution/liquidity systems (ELS), through a legacy-to-Agile QA transformation. We are looking for an SDET to join a distributed Singapore/Bengaluru QA organization, working closely with Developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, DevOps, and Production Support teams across the full software development lifecycle of enterprise financial applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive manual, API, functional, integration, regression, and automation testing for enterprise financial applications.
• Validate complex financial workflows across trading, risk management, portfolio management, and capital markets systems, including FIX Protocol validation.
• Design test strategies and manage test execution across multiple releases using Jira, Confluence, and Tricentis qTest.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and rapid delivery.
• Debug application issues, analyze logs, identify root causes, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve defects.
• Leverage AI coding assistants (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) across the testing lifecycle, including test case generation, code review, root cause analysis, defect summarization, and documentation.
• Identify automation opportunities and continuously improve testing efficiency and product quality.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 6–10 years of hands‑on experience in software testing / test automation.
• Test automation expertise in Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript), including scalable framework design using POM, modular structure, reusable utilities, and reporting.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, and Java, with solid OOP fundamentals and hands‑on REST API testing and automation using Postman and/or Playwright, including auth, headers, payloads, and response schema validation.
• Financial domain expertise, with proven experience testing trading platforms, risk management, capital markets, or investment management workflows, including FIX Protocol / FIX Message and trading lifecycle validation.
• Git‑based version control and CI/CD integration experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI).
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving abilities, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across distributed, cross‑functional teams.
• Proven ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments, with a quality‑and‑automation‑first engineering mindset and strong sense of ownership.
• Domain exposure to Capital Markets, Hedge Funds, Asset Management, or Investment Banking highly desirable, along with knowledge of GraphQL APIs, SQL/database testing, and AWS and/or Azure cloud‑native application testing.
• Curiosity to explore emerging technologies, particularly AI in Quality Engineering—and exposure to reviewing automation code and establishing coding standards.
