Job summary

Barracuda Networks is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) II to join our cross-functional Agile team in Bengaluru. You will design, develop, and deliver automated and manual tests, working with product managers and developers to ensure high-quality platform services.

You will participate in building test plans, maintaining automation frameworks (Playwright), and troubleshooting in QA. Strong scripting, Linux, and AWS familiarity are advantageous for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in software development, testing, and automation.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL).
• Experience in full test life cycle: test case creation, scripts, manual and automated testing.
• Knowledge of authentication/authorization mechanisms (OAuth, LDAP).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build manual and automated test plans from business requirements.

Tech Stack:

• TypeScript, PHP
• Good Experience with both manual and automated testing
• Good Experience with SQL based databases
• CI/CD Pipeline: GitHub, GitHub Actions
• Authentication: OAUTH 2.0, LDAP, Microsoft 365, Google
• Basic Networking knowledge: HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, DNS, and networking protocols.
• Test Automation Framework: Playwright

Nice to haves:

Strong practical Linux usage and bash scripting skills

• Familiarity with bug tracking systems like JIRA for defect logging and tracking.

• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML.

What you will be working on

• Building manual and automated test plans from business requirements
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites using industry-standard tools and frameworks to capture Functional and Non-Functional use cases.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality software releases
• Identify and document defects and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Able to write code and modify existing automation framework.
• Lead troubleshooting of issues in QA environment

What you bring to the role

• 3-5 years of experience in software development, testing, and automation
• Requires coding, and analytical skills
• Experience in a full project testing life cycle including test case creation, script development, manual and automated testing
• Experience in Relational Databases (SQL)
• Experience in Authentication and Access Management
• Common testing practices in a highly agile project environment
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Experience in manual testing & performance testing, analyzing test logs, creating test reports and keeping the manager updated on the progress on a regular basis.
• Experience with AWS including knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services
