Akamai seeks a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a Scrum team and advance quality across Akamai Data Warehouse testing. You will contribute to full product life cycle, build integration and system tests, both manual and automated, and ensure robust verification of backend distributed systems.

Our Cloud Data Services Quality Assurance group is responsible for extensive testing across multiple cutting‑edge technologies and systems developed at Akamai. Our priority is blending these technologies and focusing on real‑world, end‑to‑end testing to ensure all of our systems integrate and deploy to Akamai's Platform.

Develop and contribute to full product life cycle

As a SDET, you will be part of a scrum team, working to support good quality practices and build integration and system tests, both manual and automated. You'll be a key part of the team responsible for testing of Akamai Data Warehouse.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:

• Performing the full QA cycle for software releases: gathering specs, developing test plans, automate, running automated and manual tests.
• Creating and applying new approaches and concepts to improve the productivity and efficiency of testing practices and the environment.
• Performing and participating in all aspects of verification including requirements gathering, feature and functional testing, regression, load, and performance testing.
• Designing testing tools, which include developing scripts to enhance regression testing.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Have solid QA testing experience.
• Show advanced knowledge of scripting languages like Python, shell script and SQL.
• Have a good understanding on networking protocols and technologies (especially HTTP, HTTPS, DNS).
• Demonstrate experience in testing of Backend Distributed systems and have some familiarity with Kubernetes.
