Job summary

Amazon in Bengaluru is seeking Software Development Engineers (SDEs) to design, build, and innovate on behalf of customers. You will work in a fast‑paced, scalable environment delivering products and services from scratch while managing ambiguity and rapid development cycles.

The role emphasizes collaboration with experienced Amazonians, building technologies at scale, and mentoring junior engineers within an agile team. A strong background in software design and systems architecture is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years in design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• 3+ years of Video Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products to market.
• Design and build technologies in a large distributed computing environment and lead changes in the industry.
• Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems at scale and speed.
• Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable and fault-tolerant.
• Design and code the right solutions starting from broadly defined problems.
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
• Optimize the existing technology stack for scalability and transformation of infrastructure.
• Improve operational excellence, quality of deliverables and continuous deployment.
• Mentor junior engineers in the team.

• Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
• Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
• Optimization of the existing technology stack for scalability and transformation of common infrastructure to support multiple programs.
• Actively work with the team to improve on operational excellence, quality of deliverables and improve on continuous deployment.
• Mentor junior engineers in the team.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 3+ years of Video Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
