Job summary

Amazon in India is seeking a software engineer to contribute to the Direct Fulfillment (DF) model, enabling vendors to ship directly to customers. You will drive technical design and implement end-to-end solutions for scalable, reliable systems across India and global marketplaces.

You will lead development efforts, review designs, ensure quality delivery, mentor peers, and stay current with emerging technologies to push the boundary of customer-centric retail technology.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

About the team

Direct Fulfillment (DF), known in the industry as "dropship," is a fulfillment model that allows vendors to ship orders directly to the Customer. The offer is branded as 'Ships and Sold by Amazon' and the customer service experience is the same as items sold from Amazon Fulfillment centers, such that the customer does not know the difference. DF was launched in India (IN) on Oct 2018. Our vision: “provide customers with widest possible retail selection while maintaining a superior experience for vendors and cost structure for Amazon”.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
