Job summary

Amazon Financial Technology Team is seeking a results-oriented software development engineer to help build the next generation of distributed, scalable financial systems. The role focuses on designing and developing services that enable billions of USD in global transactions and leveraging AWS cloud technologies to solve complex financial challenges.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Finance, Product, and Platform Engineering to deliver high-impact solutions while driving

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture of distributed systems.
• Experience programming with at least one language.
• Experience in ML/ data mining/ NLP is a plus.
• Experience delivering complex software to customers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define high level and low level design for software solutions using the latest AWS technology in a large distributed environment.
• Define architecture for distributed financial systems using modern AWS technologies.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and reliable software solutions for accounting and financial operations.
• Drive architecture and technology choices aligned with long-term platform goals and scalability.
• Implement and advocate engineering best practices including automation, testing, code reviews and CI/CD.
• Leverage data and metrics to enhance system performance, reliability and efficiency.
• Develop integration frameworks and APIs to streamline workflows and improve interoperability.
• Maintain code quality with emphasis on security, readability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Finance, Product and Platform Eng to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Drive continuous innovation through experimentation and adoption of modern technologies.
• Experience or exposure to AI/ML is a strong plus.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processing
• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
