Amazon's Finance Technology (FinTech) organization is building the next generation of distributed, globally scalable financial systems — and we need your help. As a Software Development Engineer II on the General Ledger team, you will design and develop services that process hundreds of millions of transactions each month, powering accurate financial reporting across Amazon worldwide.
You will work on greenfield services from the ground up, tackling complex problems in cloud computing, distributed data processing, and high-throughput transaction handling. Collaborating closely with product managers, data engineers, accountants, and principal engineers, you will have direct influence on architecture decisions and the opportunity to grow your technical leadership skills in a high-visibility, mission-critical space.

About the team
At the heart of FinTech's mission is the General Ledger team, which builds and operates the technologies to account for and post millions of financial transactions daily to support accurate internal and external financial reporting. This team processes on average 371MM+ transactions per month, servicing the accounting needs of Finance, Accounting, and Tax teams worldwide. The work of the General ledger team is absolutely essential to meeting Amazon's critical close timelines and maintaining the integrity of the company's financial data.
