Esri, the world leader in GIS, is seeking a Build and DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and maintain the systems that build, test, package, deploy, and operate ArcGIS Enterprise software across varied environments.

You will develop CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or GitHub Actions, work with Python/PowerShell, Docker and Kubernetes, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve release velocity, stability, and observability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in build engineering, DevOps, release engineering, system administration, or related field.
• Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and software delivery automation using Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency with Python, PowerShell, Shell or another scripting language.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes or similar container orchestration technologies.
• Understanding of software build, packaging, deployment, and release processes.
• Experience troubleshooting complex software, infrastructure, and automation issues.
• Fundamental understanding of REST APIs, networking, and distributed systems.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.

Overview

As a Build and DevOps Engineer, you will help design, automate, and maintain the systems that build, test, package, deploy, and operate ArcGIS Enterprise software. You will work closely with software developers, product engineers, release engineers to improve build reliability, release velocity, system stability, and operational excellence across global development environments.

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience designing infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation
• Experience with configuration-management tools such as Ansible
• Experience with artifact repositories, package management, dependency management, or software supply‑chain security
• Experience implementing observability using Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry, or centralized logging platforms
• Experience with at least one cloud platform, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
