Umanist NA is seeking a Backend Engineer for Gurgaon to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based backend services. You will build fault-tolerant microservices, ensure production readiness, and collaborate with DevOps for CI/CD in an in-office setup in Gurugram, Haryana.

The role targets 1.5–2+ years of backend experience with Java, Spring Boot, and relational/microservices ecosystems. Immediate joiners preferred.

Formación

• 1.5+–2+ years backend development with Java.
• Strong OO, data structures, and algorithms.
• Proficiency in Spring Boot, REST APIs, and JPA/Hibernate.
• Experience with MySQL; NoSQL exposure a plus.
• Knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with monitoring/logging/tracing tools (Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Pinpoint).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices.
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ).
• Proficient in Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
• Good communication and collaborative mindset.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices and APIs with Java/Spring Boot.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend microservices and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
• Contribute to building high-availability, fault-tolerant systems that support core e-commerce business operations.
• Enhance system observability and debuggability through monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing tools such as Grafana, Loki, and Pinpoint.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and performance tests to ensure code reliability and production readiness.
• Write clean, modular, and maintainable code aligned with software engineering best practices.
• Continuously optimize backend applications for performance, scalability, and uptime.
• Participate actively in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture planning.
• Monitor live production environments, troubleshoot critical issues, and proactively improve system health.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to support seamless deployment and CI/CD automation.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1.5+–2+ years of hands‑on experience in backend development using Java (8/11/17).
• Strong understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming, Data Structures, and Algorithms.
• Solid expertise in Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and JPA/Hibernate.
• Experience working with MySQL or other relational databases; exposure to NoSQL databases is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous processing.
• Hands‑on experience with monitoring, logging, and tracing tools such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Pinpoint, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Microservices Architecture.
• Working knowledge of messaging systems including Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
• Proficiency with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD workflows.
• Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.
• Strong communication abilities with a collaborative and ownership-driven mindset.
