Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Mumbai is hiring a Software Engineer II within the Chief Technology Office. You will design, develop, and deliver innovative software solutions, collaborating with an agile team to build secure, scalable products across the software development lifecycle.

The role requires strong Python development, experience with relational databases, SDLC, and system design; familiarity with CI/CD, Linux shells, AWS, and AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience or as per firms guidelines.
• Strong Python development skills with a track record of delivering large-scale projects
• Experience with relational databases such as Sybase, MS SQL Server, or Oracle
• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in large-scale enterprise applications and strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and their practical use
• Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability and experience in tech and/or financial industries
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; Solid understanding of Agile practices, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security and ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects
• Familiarity with shell scripting in Linux/UNIX environments
• Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and statistical analysis
• Working knowledge of Python numerical libraries such as NumPy and Pandas
• Exposure to cloud technologies, including AWS solutions and storage technologies
• Exposure to AI tools
