Job summary

TP is seeking a Software Development Engineer (High Tech) to develop multiple types of software, including end-user applications and operating systems, to provide a platform for running external customer applications.

Responsibilities include gathering requirements, writing code with programming/scripting languages, supporting testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution of software, and applying best practices such as code reviews, source control, builds, and operations.

Qualifications

• Professional/university degree in a relevant field.
• Approximately 1-2 years of practical professional experience in software development.

• Write software code using programming, scripting, and/or database languages.
• Support testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolve software by fixing errors and implementing enhancements.
• Apply software development best practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, test, and operations.
• At this level, work independently within set frames, with a university degree and about 1-2 years of experience, and seek to improve daily activities.
• May lead a small team of junior developers and set day-to-day objectives.

Software Development Engineering (High Tech) focus on developing multiple types/categories of software including end-user applications and operating systems/utility software, that provides a platform for running end user applications for sale to external customers.

Responsibilities

• Conducting requirements gathering and analysis to understand the domain of the software problem and/or functionality, the interfaces between hardware and software, and the overall software characteristics
• Using programming, scripting, and/or database languages to write the software code
• Supporting software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancements
• Applying knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Positions on this level are fully proficient in executing established standards. Works independently within set frames and follows set course. Has a knowledge base typically acquired from a professional/university degree and approximately 1-2 years of practical professional experience in a particular area. Develops own knowledge, shares best practice and develops relevant/appropriate solutions. Positions at this level are expected to continuously improve the day-to-day activities/processes.
• Can be a formal team leader of more junior co-workers and may set day-to-day operational objectives.
