Job summary

PolarisGrids in Jaipur, India is seeking a skilled Business Central (BC) Technical Developer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in Dynamics 365 Business Central cloud customizations and integrations. Proficiency in AL development and strong .NET (C#) for extensions is required.

You will design and implement BC customizations and APIs (OData, SOAP, REST), build Azure Functions, and ensure secure, scalable integrations with ERP, MES, CRM, and eCommerce platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or related field.
• Optional: Master’s Degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Dynamics 365 BC Developer, Azure Developer Associate).
• 3+ years hands-on AL and BC development (extensions, reports, pages, code units).
• Experience with BC APIs (OData, SOAP, REST) and extension development.
• Experience with BC Manufacturing module and intercompany transactions.
• Proficiency in .NET (C#) for integrations (Azure Functions, Web APIs).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and web services; cloud integration patterns.

Responsibilities

What we are looking for

Polaris is seeking a dedicated Business Central (BC) Technical Developer with 3+ years of hands‑on experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (cloud/SaaS) customizations and integrations, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of .NET (C#) for building integrations and extensions is a strong plus. This role will involve designing and developing solutions for both BC customizations and integration projects, leveraging your strong background in AL development and ERP systems.

What you will be doing

Business Central Customizations

• Develop Business Central (BC) extensions using AL for creating custom pages, reports, tables, and code
• units.
• Customize and extend BC functionality based on business requirements, including custom workflows, business logic, and UI changes.
• Develop and maintain BC-basedAPIs (OData, SOAP, REST) for seamless integration with external systems.

.NET Integration Support

• Build and maintain supporting .NET (C#) services and Azure Functions that extend and integrate Business Central.
• Create RESTful APIs and background services to integrate BC with other business systems.
• Build middleware solutions to enable real‑time data sync between Business Central and third‑party systems (e.g., CRM, MES, etc.).

Integration Development

• Design and implement integrations between Business Central and external systems (e.g., ERP, MES, CRM, eCommerce, and third‑party applications).
• Use web services (SOAP, OData, REST) to facilitate data exchange between Business Central and other enterprise applications.
• Develop custom Azure Functions or logic apps to manage integration flows and automate business processes.
• Implement security protocols for integrations, including OAuth 2.0, Azure Active Directory (AAD) authentication, and API management.

Collaboration & Best Practices

• Work closely with business analysts and functional consultants to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Maintain high standards of coding practices, conduct code reviews, and ensure best practices for security, performance, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration and customization issues in production environments.

What you should have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field.

• 3+ years' hands‑on experience with AL and Business Central development (extensions, reports, pages, and code units)
• Experience working with Business Central APIs (OData, SOAP, REST) and extension development.
• Working knowledge of Business Central's Manufacturing module—production orders, BOMs, routings, and capacity/MRP planning and integrating BC with shop floor/MES systems.
• Experience with Business Central intercompany (IC) transactions, intercompany partner setup, chart of accounts/dimension mapping, and IC document and journal flows across entities.
• Working proficiency in .NET (C#) for building integrations and extensions (Azure Functions, ASP.NET Core / Web APIs).
• Experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and web services.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, T‑SQL, and database design.
• Proven experience in integrating Business Central with third‑party applications—e.g., MES, CRM, ERP, or e‑commerce platforms using APIs and web services.
• Familiarity with Azure Functions, Power Automate, Logic Apps, or other cloud‑based integration solutions.
• Experience with middleware solutions and cloud‑based integration patterns.
• Knowledge of API authentication methods, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and Azure Active Directory.
• Experience working with Azure (Functions, App Services, Logic Apps) and DevOps pipelines.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and automation tools.
