Job description

We are seeking a Senior Engineer with a strong development and problem-solving background to join our AI for Service team. In this role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, debugging, and resolving complex issues across enterprise-grade chatbot and virtual agent solutions powered by Large Language Models (LLMs). You'll own the entire issue lifecycle from triage to root cause analysis while ensuring high performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Triage, analyze, and resolve production issues related to chatbots and IVR-based virtual agents.
• Debug and optimize core conversational components such as NLU, dialog management, and fallback handling.
• Design and evaluate LLM prompts, guardrails, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) strategies for consistent performance.
• Develop and maintain REST API and webhook integrations; troubleshoot authentication (OAuth2 OIDC, JWT).
• Write and debug automation scripts, utilities, and code snippets using Python and Node.js .
• Set up and manage monitoring and alerting dashboards (Grafana, ELK, Prometheus) to track service performance and reliability.
• Participate in incident response and Root Cause Analyses (RCA) to drive permanent fixes.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and customer teams to enhance the conversational experience.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security best practices (SOC2 GDPR).
• Maintain runbooks, playbooks, and knowledge base articles for effective troubleshooting and faster resolution.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software or support engineering, preferably in a production environment.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Conversational AI, chatbots, or LLM-based applications.
• Strong programming skills in Python and Node.js .
• Solid understanding of web services, including REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and authentication mechanisms.
• Familiarity with NLP concepts such as intents, entities, and training data evaluation.
• Experience with observability tools (Grafana, ELK, Prometheus).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers or cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with enterprise chatbot platforms or LLM orchestration frameworks.
• Knowledge of vector databases and RAG pipelines.
• Exposure to telephony/IVR systems (e. g., Twilio, Genesys, Amazon Connect).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with ASR/TTS, multilingual NLP, or NoSQL databases.
