Job summary

ThoughtWorks in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design and deliver software solutions with strong engineering practices. You will mentor junior consultants and drive teams toward an aspirational tech vision while maintaining high code quality and collaboration across stakeholders.

You will work onsite in Bengaluru, collaborate with diverse teams, and apply modern methods to build scalable, distributed systems while advocating for DevSecOps and clean architecture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and React.
• Experience with Object-Oriented programming and test-driven development.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies like XP, Scrum or Kanban.
• Knowledge of cloud tech like AWS, Docker or Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Learn and adopt best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming and design patterns.
• Advocate for continuous delivery to deliver high-quality software and value to end customers early.
• Collaborate in value-driven teams to build innovative customer experiences for our clients.
• Create large-scale distributed systems out of microservices.
• Collaborate with teammates to build features, design concepts and interactive prototypes with UX considerations.
• Apply the latest technology thinking from our Technology Radar to solve client problems.
• Utilize DevSecOps tools and practices to build and deploy software, shifting security left in development.
• Oversee end-to-end software consulting and delivery from ideation to deployment and everything in between.
• Mentor less-experienced peers through your technical knowledge and leadership skills.

Job qualifications

Technical Skills

• You have 5+ years of experience and well-versed in two or more languages (Java, React,) and are comfortable with the latest Object-Oriented technology.
• You can skillfully write high-quality, well-tested code and you are comfortable with Object-Oriented programming
• You are comfortable with Agile methodologies, such as Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum and/or Kanban.
• Bonus points if you have knowledge of cloud technology such as AWS, Docker or Kubernetes
• You have a good awareness of TDD, continuous integration and continuous delivery approaches/tools

Professional Skills

• You enjoy influencing others and always advocate for technical excellence while being open to change when needed
• Presence in the external tech community: you willingly share your expertise with others via speaking engagements, contributions to open source, blogs and more
• Youre resilient in ambiguous situations and can approach challenges from multiple perspectives
