ALSTOM Gruppe in Bengaluru (Bangalore) is seeking a senior Software Engineer to design and develop scalable software solutions for smart mobility. You’ll contribute to the design, development, and deployment of software solutions that power the future of smart and sustainable mobility. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Software Architects, Hardware Designers, RAMS, V&V departments) to ensure seamless integration of software components, prepare and perform software testing, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of elaborating software specifications and architectures in collaboration with the Lead and Software Architect, but also designing and developing software modules and optimizing performance.
We’ll look to you for:
Contributing to the elaboration of software specifications and architecture in collaboration with the Lead and Software Architect
Performing detailed-level software architecture and design
Setting up the software development toolchain
Preparing and performing software module tests and verifications
Ensuring proper configuration management of software work products
Supporting software and hardware integration alongside hardware designers
Sustaining and evolving software solutions through continuous improvement
Defining and implementing CI/CD pipelines and automating routine tasks
Contributing to standardization by reusing or implementing reusable solutions
Maintaining strong collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout the software design cycle
Applying processes and standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Managing requirements and ensuring traceability

Degree in BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in a relevant field
8 to 12 years of software design and development experience using C#, .NET Core, and Microservices architecture
Experience in design and deployment methodologies (e.g., V cycle, SysML, requirement management)
Proficiency in C# .NET Core and Microservices development, including ASP.NET Core and RESTful APIs
Knowledge of API design and management, including RESTful principles, security (OAuth2, JWT, MTLS), and API Gateway (Azure API Management)
Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and Docker in a production context
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, and OpenTelemetry
Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab) and secrets management (e.g., Vault or Azure Key Vault)
Knowledge of automation tools such as Terraform and deployment strategies like Blue/Green and Canary
Understanding of cloud-native design (Azure preferred), scalability, resilience, and cost optimization
Strong communication and leadership skills to guide, influence, and collaborate effectively in a matrix organization
Innovative mindset with a focus on creating reusable solutions and model-based developments
Experience working with European customers is a plus
