Job summary

Siemens in Pune is seeking a Senior Software Architect - MBSE who will lead the India development team, drive architectural decisions, and develop Java-based applications and MagicDraw extensions. You will work with global architects and product owners to advance MBSE tooling, AI-assisted development, and cloud collaborations, while mentoring engineers in an Agile/Scrum setup.

The role requires strong leadership, architectural mindset, and continual improvement of software quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/SE/EE/IT or related field.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of technical leadership or architecture experience.
• Strong experience designing enterprise-grade software systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as local technical authority for the India development team.
• Drive solution architecture, design reviews, and implementation strategies.
• Define and enforce software architecture guidelines, coding standards, and development best practices.
• Collaborate with global architects, product owners, and stakeholders on roadmap and technical strategy.
• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications, Eclipse plugins, and MagicDraw extensions.
• Contribute hands-on to MBSE tooling, code generators, validation frameworks, and model management utilities.
• Develop integrations between MagicDraw, Teamwork Cloud, AI services, and enterprise systems.
• Mentor developers, perform code reviews, and drive quality through the team.

• We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Technical Lead / Local Architect to join our engineering team supporting Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) solutions built around the MagicDraw ecosystem. This role combines software architecture, hands-on development, technical leadership, and AI-enabled software engineering practices.
• The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java-based enterprise software development, experience with Eclipse-based platforms and plugin architectures, and the ability to design scalable, maintainable solutions. The candidate will work closely with global architects and product owners to develop and enhance MagicDraw plugins, model management solutions, reporting frameworks, code generation tools, and cloud-based model collaboration platforms.
• The role requires a strong architectural mindset, systematic problem-solving approach, critical thinking, and the ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools while maintaining high engineering standards and software quality.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Technical Architecture & Leadership

• Evaluate architectural trade-offs and ensure maintainability, scalability, and performance of solutions.
• Collaborate with global architects, product owners, and stakeholders on roadmap and technical strategy.
• Software Development:
• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications, Eclipse plugins, and MagicDraw extensions.
• Contribute hands-on to development of MBSE-related tooling, code generators, validation frameworks, reporting solutions, and model management utilities.
• Develop integrations between MagicDraw, Teamwork Cloud, AI services, and enterprise systems.
• Support modernization initiatives and technology evolution across the platform ecosystem.
• Perform code reviews and mentor developers across the team.
• AI-Assisted Engineering:
• Promote effective usage of AI-assisted development tools.
• Define best practices for AI-generated code validation and quality assurance.
• Apply critical thinking and systematic engineering approaches to avoid introducing architectural or code-quality issues through AI-generated content.
• Support implementation of AI-enabled capabilities, including model interaction and LLM integration scenarios.
• Team & Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Mentor and coach engineers.
• Support onboarding and technical ramp-up of new team members.
• Work within Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Coordinate with global teams.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, or related field.
