Job Summary:
We are looking for a Snowflake Developer with hands‑on experience in Snowflake, SQL, AWS, and data pipelines. The role involves developing and supporting scalable data pipelines, transforming structured and semi‑structured data, optimizing Snowflake performance and cost, and supporting production data workloads for our US‑based client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Snowflake databases, schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and UDFs.
- Work with Virtual Warehouses, Time Travel, Zero‑Copy Cloning, Streams & Tasks, and Snowpipe for batch and near real‑time data processing.
- Integrate Snowflake with AWS services such as S3, IAM, Lambda, Glue, or similar services.
- Configure and troubleshoot external stages, storage integrations, and secure data movement between AWS, RDS, On‑Premise DB, and Snowflake.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformations.
- Work with JSON, XML, and Parquet data using Snowflake VARIANT, FLATTEN, and other semi‑structured data functions.
- Perform query and warehouse performance tuning, including query profiling, clustering keys, materialized views, and warehouse sizing.
- Monitor and optimize Snowflake credit consumption, warehouse usage, storage, and overall cost.
- Support production data pipelines, including monitoring, troubleshooting, incident resolution, and documentation.
- Develop Python and / or PySpark scripts for data transformation, validation, automation, and integration.
- Use AI coding assistants such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools for development, debugging, query writing, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, and business stakeholders and document technical designs and processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands‑on Snowflake development experience mandatory.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, stored procedures, and transformations.
- Experience with Snowflake + AWS integration, particularly S3, Glue, Lambda, or similar services.
- Hands‑on experience with JSON, XML, and Parquet data and Snowflake VARIANT / FLATTEN.
- Strong understanding of Snowflake performance tuning and cost/credit optimization.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting production data pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python and/or PySpark.
- Experience using AI development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Snowpark for Python.
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Step Functions, or similar.
- Understanding of RBAC, data governance, and security best practices within Snowflake.
- Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines and Git version control.
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts (star schema, dimensional modeling).
Additional Expectations
- Shift time: 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
- Experience in International client‑facing roles is a plus.
