Job Summary
Discovery and assessment of existing platform. Develop technical design and integration approach for Snowflake and Tableau (high level). Scope limited to discovery, planning and documentation; does not include implementation, software development, or live system integration. Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience with Snowflake and Tableau based big‑data processing projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud‑native data architectures on AWS, including data lakes, data warehouses, and streaming pipelines using services like S3.
- Develop and orchestrate ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Optimize data warehousing solutions on Amazon Redshift/Other, including schema design, workload management, data distribution strategies, and materialized views.
- Ensure data security, access control, and lineage through Lake Formation, IAM policies, and encryption at rest/in transit.
- Automate data operations and deployments using CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform, and integrate with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CodePipeline, GitHub Actions).
- Establish and enforce standards for data modelling (Star/Snowflake, 3NF, Data Vault), data quality, and governance within AWS ecosystems.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including data scientists, business stakeholders, and DevOps, to align solutions with business objectives.
- Lead code and architecture reviews, mentor junior engineers, and enforce engineering best practices across the team.
Participate in pre‑sales and consulting activities such as:
- Engaging with clients to gather requirements and propose AWS‑based data engineering solutions.
- Supporting RFPs/RFIs, technical proposals, and client solution demos.
- Estimating cloud costs, implementation efforts, and timelines for AWS data initiatives.
Must‑Have Qualifications
- AWS Expertise: Strong hands‑on experience with AWS data services including S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and CloudWatch.
- ETL/ELT Engineering: Deep proficiency in designing robust ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Data Modeling: Advanced knowledge of dimensional (Star/Snowflake) and normalised data modeling, optimised for Redshift and S3‑based lakehouses.
- Architecture Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading large‑scale AWS data engineering projects across teams and domains.
- Pre‑sales & Consulting: Proven experience working with clients, responding to technical RFPs, and designing cloud‑native data solutions.
- Performance Tuning & Partitioning: Proven ability to debug and optimize jobs through custom partitioning strategies, broadcast joins, caching, and checkpointing.
