Job summary

Malabar Group seeks a skilled Jewelry Repair Technician to service customer requirements and coordinate repair work across sections. You will handle polishing, soldering, and basic gem appraisal, ensuring timely returns to customers.

You will follow SOPs in-store, participate in ear piercing, melt old gold per SOP, and support training and self-development initiatives as part of your role.

Responsibilities

• Meet customers and understand their repair requirements; facilitate repair manually or with equipment.
• Coordinate with repair section for timely return of products.
• Clean and polish jewelry for customers and stock; operate polishing equipment.
• Appraise gems and jewelry using karat analyzer and coordinate with QC as needed.
• Examine products and provide customers with an approximate collection date.
• Send diamond products to MBMG for repair and coordinate with relevant sections.
• Carry out repair work on stock items as directed by authority.
• Melt old gold collected from customers per company SOP.
• Carry out ear piercing process carefully as required.
• Perform soldering of gold and calculate extra charges in the process.
• Adhere to store standard operating procedures.
• Continuously seek opportunities for self-development and growth.
• Ensure timely completion of performance appraisals for self.
• Identify training needs and complete mandatory training programs/certifications for self.

Job description

Functional Responsibilities

• Meet the customers and understand their requirement for repair and facilitate repair manually or using adequate equipment.
• Coordinate with repair section; if required, for the timely return of the product to the customers.
• Clean and polish Jewelry of the customers and existing stock as needed; handle mechanical equipment for polishing.
• Appraise gems and jewelry for the customers using karat analyzer as and when required and coordinate with QC section as required.
• Examine the product and provide the customer with an approximate date to collect their repaired product.
• Send the diamond products to MBMG for repair in a timely manner by coordinating with the respective section.
• Carry out repair work for any products in the stock as directed by the respective authority.
• Melt the old gold collected from the customer at the store as per the company SOP.
• Carry out ear piercing process carefully and as per the requirement of the customers.
• Perform soldering of gold and calculate the value of extra charges implied in the process.
