Job summary

Paytm Group is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for its Enterprise Payments team in Noida. You will work with Sales, Product, and Business units to drive merchant acquisition, solution consulting, and adoption of Paytm’s payment services.

The SME will bring deep domain expertise in card payments, payment workflows, and digital payment solutions to enable enterprise sales and successful onboarding of merchants across the Paytm ecosystem.

About the role

We are looking for highly driven and customer-focused professionals to join our Enterprise Payments team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). The role requires working closely with Sales, Product, and Business teams to drive merchant acquisition, solution consulting, and adoption of Paytm’s payment services

products. The SME will play a critical role in enabling enterprise sales by providing deep domain expertise in card payments, payment workflows, and digital payment solutions.

Expectations / Requirements :

• The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of the payments ecosystem, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to translate complex payment solutions into business value for enterprise merchants.
• Partner closely with enterprise sales teams to drive merchant acquisition and revenue growth by acting as a payments domain expert during client discussions and solution presentations.
• Engage with CXOs, payment heads, product teams, and business stakeholders to understand merchant requirements and recommend suitable payment solutions.
• Support sales teams in pitching Paytm’s payment suite, including Card Payments, Tokenisation, International Card Payments, Pre-auth & Capture, Payment Gateway solutions, UPI, and value-added payment products.
• Act as a trusted advisor for merchants by providing consultative solutioning aligned with their business models, payment flows, and customer experience goals.
• Work with Product and Technology teams to identify market requirements, product gaps, and opportunities for enhancing payment offerings.
• Contribute towards product ideation, competitive benchmarking, and feedback-driven improvements to strengthen Paytm’s market positioning.
• Drive product adoption and merchant penetration by enabling successful onboarding, training, and solution implementation.
• Lead merchant-facing discussions for new product launches, feature enhancements, and payment optimization initiatives.
• Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), use cases, and workflow recommendations to support product enhancements and digital-first customer journeys.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Legal, and Technology to ensure seamless execution and faster resolution of merchant requirements.
• Track industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies within the payments and fintech ecosystem to strengthen sales strategy and customer engagement.

Superpowers / Skills that will help you succeed in this role :

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Payments, Fintech, Product Consulting, Solution Engineering, or Business Product Management with strong exposure to enterprise sales.
• Strong understanding of the card payments ecosystem, including Card Processing, Tokenisation, Pre-auth & Capture, Payment Gateway flows, International Card Payments, and online/offline payment solutions.
• Ability to drive consultative and solution-led sales conversations with enterprise merchants and senior stakeholders.
• Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to simplify complex payment concepts for business audiences.
• Experience working closely with cross-functional teams and driving alignment between Sales, Product, and Technology teams.
• Proven ability to support GTM initiatives, product adoption strategies, and customer success programs.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data, customer insights, and market intelligence to influence business decisions.
• A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, and dynamic fintech environment.
• Prior experience in fintech, payment gateways, banking, consulting, or enterprise solutioning roles will be an added advantage.
