Job summary

NeST Digital – Energy & Utilities SME role focused on pre-sales support and technical credibility with clients in energy verticals including industrial facilities, grid utilities, and healthcare energy systems.

You will engage with plant owners, CFOs, and operations managers, translating regulatory drivers into commercial conversations and shaping energy-use case narratives for pilots and value engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or Industrial Engineering.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in industrial energy audits, energy management, or utility-side efficiency programmes.
• Working knowledge of compressed-air systems, HVAC, motor efficiency, demand-side management, and electricity tariff structures.
• Track record of presenting technical findings to leadership and diverse stakeholders (technical and non-technical).
• Multi-industry experience in Energy & utilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical/domain conversation in prospect meetings, pilot kickoffs, and proof-of-value engagements.
• Represent NeST Digital in client workshops and business reviews with leadership.
• Partner with Sales and Solutions Architecture to scope pilot assets and define baseline measurement points.
• Build and maintain vertical-specific business use cases, ROI calculators, and reference case studies for the sales/marketing team.
• Stay current on regulatory drivers (BRSR, ISO 50001, etc.) and translate them into commercial conversations.

The Role

We're hiring an Energy & Utilities Subject Matter Expert to be the technical credibility behind every business client conversation. This is a client-facing role, not a back-office analyst position: you will sit across the table from plant owners, CFOs, grid operations managers, and hospital facilities directors, and you need to be able to look at their actual energy-relevant verticals: industrial manufacturing (compressed air, motors, humidification, demand charges), grid and water utilities, and building/healthcare energy (HVAC, generators, critical power).

Key Responsibilities

Pre-sales & client engagement

• Lead the technical/domain conversation in prospect meetings, pilot kickoffs, and proof-of-value engagements.
• Represent NeST Digital in client workshops and business reviews, presenting findings directly to customers and leadership.
• Partner with Sales and Solutions Architecture to scope pilot assets, define baseline measurement points, etc.
• Build and maintain vertical-specific business use cases, ROI calculators, and reference case studies used by the sales and marketing team.
• Stay current on the regulatory drivers that create urgency for prospects — BRSR, EU CBAM, India's PAT scheme, ISO 50001, Qatar National Vision 2030, Saudi Vision 2030 — and translate them into commercial conversation, not just compliance trivia.

Product & delivery support

• Work with the ML/AI engine team to ground anomaly thresholds and energy-normalisation logic in real engineering behaviour, not just statistical baselines.
• Sanity-check on every energy related proposal, offerings from the DU/BU.
• Be up-to-date on the innovation, Guide and prepare critical offerings, service for Energy customer and help to build strong skill set inside the organization.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or Industrial Engineering.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in industrial energy audits, energy management, or utility-side efficiency programmes.
• Working knowledge of compressed-air systems, HVAC, motor efficiency, demand-side management, and electricity tariff structures.
• A track record of presenting technical findings to leadership, technical(Hardware/Software ) & non-technical stakeholders.
• Multi industry experience in Energy & utilities.

Nice to Have

• Certified Energy Auditor (BEE, India) or Certified Energy Manager (AEE).
• Familiarity with ISO 50001 energy management systems.
• Ideally experienced on multi asset at an IoT, SCADA, BESS, BMS, or energy-tech vendor.
• Exposure to Gulf utility or infrastructure programmes.
• Familiarity with ESG/carbon reporting frameworks (BRSR, GHG Protocol, CBAM).
• Adherence to international and Indian standards
• IEC 61850/61970/61968 for communication
• IEEE 1547 for distributed resource interconnection
• IEC 62443 & ISO 27001 for cybersecurity
• CEA/CERC/MNRE regulations for grid compliance
