Job summary

Trimble CMS is seeking an AI/ML Engineer (P1) to join our Construction Management Solutions team. You will work alongside senior data scientists and principal engineers to transform real-world data into production-grade enterprise tools and accelerate your career in AI/ML engineering.

You will develop and fine-tune models, perform data preprocessing, and contribute to ML pipelines, gaining hands-on experience with ML Ops, cloud platforms, and collaboration across engineering and domain teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or a closely related quantitative field (Trimble's ladder typically requires four or more years).
• Strong grounding in machine learning theory, evaluation metrics, and foundational deep learning concepts.
• Proficient Python coding with datasets using standard data science libraries (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn).
• Solid CS fundamentals and software engineering practices for clean, modular code.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, implementing, and fine-tuning ML algorithms and foundational models.
• Own data collection, sanitization, exploratory analysis, and feature engineering tasks.
• Execute routine testing, debugging, and documentation of ML codebases and pipelines.
• Support integration of trained models into enterprise-grade applications and ML pipelines.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to translate business requirements into ML tasks and milestones.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Core ML Literacy: Strong conceptual grounding in machine learning theory, evaluation metrics, statistical techniques, and foundational deep learning concepts.
• Programming Proficiency: Strong coding skills in Python , with practical experience manipulating datasets and building algorithms using standard data science libraries including NumPy , pandas , and scikit-learn .
• Computer Science Foundations: Solid grasp of fundamental data structures, basic data modeling principles, and software engineering practices necessary for clean, modular code development.
• Analytical Problem Solving: Proven ability to follow structured engineering methodologies to troubleshoot issues of defined scope and arrive at clear, practical solutions.

• Deep Learning Frameworks: Hands‑on familiarity with modern deep learning toolkits such as PyTorch or TensorFlow .
