Job summary

Apple Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join our team and help build resilient, scalable infrastructure for our services. You will collaborate with product teams to design reliable systems and automate provisioning, deployment, and monitoring across production and non‑production environments.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in SRE/Infra Ops, strong programming skills (Python/Go/Java), and hands‑on experience with Kubernetes in distributed cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, Infra Ops or DevOps‑focused role.
• Understanding of SRE principles, monitoring, alerting, error budgets and toil reduction.
• Proficiency in Python, Go or Java.

Responsibilities

• Engage with product teams to design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Operate, monitor, and triage all production and non-prod environments.
• Collaborate with engineers on code, design reviews and process improvements.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve reliability, security, and performance.
• Develop automation to provision, configure, deploy, and monitor services.
• Participate in on‑call rotations during service‑impacting events.
• Contribute to capacity planning, scale testing, and disaster recovery exercises.
• Approach operational problems with a software engineering mindset.

Description

• Engage with our product teams to understand requirements, design, and implement resilient and scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Operate, monitor, and triage all aspects of our production and non-production environments.
• Collaborate with other engineers on code, infrastructure, design reviews, and process enhancements.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve system reliability, security, and performance.
• Develop and implement automation to provision, configure, deploy, and monitor Apple services.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation providing hands‑on technical expertise during service‑impacting events.
• Contribute to capacity planning, scale testing, and disaster recovery exercises.
• Approach operational problems with a software engineering mindset.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years of demonstrated expertise in Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Ops or DevOps‑focused role.
• Understanding of SRE principles, includes monitoring, alerting, error budgets, fault analysis, capacity planning, automation and toil reduction.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language - Python, Go or Java.
• Experience managing and scaling distributed systems in a public, private, or hybrid cloud environment.
• Experience with microservices architecture and container orchestration using Kubernetes or similar technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science / related fields or equivalent work experience.
• Experience running Tier 1 services for 24/7 support.
• Strong understanding of Linux operating system fundamentals, networking principles, and system management.
• Strong sense of ownership, with a desire to communicate and collaborate with other engineers and teams.
