Job summary

Epam Systems Bengaluru is seeking a Senior SRE/Platform Engineer to design, operate and improve scalable infrastructure across cloud and container platforms. You will own reliability, monitoring, incident response and cost-aware engineering in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in SRE or platform engineering, strong AWS experience (EKS/ECS/EC2/IAM), deep Kubernetes knowledge, and a pragmatic approach to security and observability.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on experience in SRE, platform engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong AWS experience including EKS, ECS, EC2, networking and IAM.
• Deep Kubernetes and container platform expertise.
• Experience designing and operating observability platforms (monitoring/logging/alerting).
• Hands-on Datadog usage for metrics, logs, APM and alerting.
• Solid understanding of SRE principles (SLOs, error budgets, incident management).
• Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals and incident response.
• Exposure to FinOps practices for cost monitoring and optimization of ML/AI services.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on technical experience in SRE, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, or related roles


• Strong experience with AWS, including services such as EKS, ECS, EC2, networking, IAM, and managed services


• Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized platforms


• Proven experience designing and operating observability platforms, including monitoring, logging, and alerting


• Hands-on experience with Datadog for metrics, logs, APM, and alerting


• Strong understanding of SRE principles, including SLOs, error budgets, incident management, and reliability engineering


• Solid understanding of cloud security principles and experience collaborating with security teams


• Extensive hands-on experience in cloud security engineering, applying best practices to ensure system reliability, managing security incidents, and driving mitigation and remediation measures.


• Experience or working knowledge of FinOps practices, including monitoring, optimizing, and controlling costs associated with ML models and API-based AI services.

Good to have Skills

• Experience supporting multi-cloud or hybrid environments


• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)


• Experience in large-scale, complex, or regulated environments


• Knowledge of vector databases and RAG architecture for building internal SRE knowledge assistants.


• Knowledge of Generative AI and LLM platforms (e.g., Claude, Amazon Bedrock)
