Job description

This Site Reliability Engineer role focuses on maintaining the reliability and performance of PhonePe's large-scale fintech infrastructure, ensuring services remain always-up and always-available through Linux/Unix administration, networking, and open source technologies.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain and optimize the reliability and performance of large-scale fintech infrastructure supporting millions of users
• Implement best practices and IT operations to ensure always-up, always-available service delivery
• Participate actively in on-call rotation schedules for incident response and production support
• Work with Linux networking, cloud services, and open source technologies to support infrastructure needs
• Develop and implement automation and configuration management solutions using tools like SaltStack

What You Need

• Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration with extensive hands-on experience
• Strong computer networking proficiency and working knowledge
• Solid understanding of open source technologies, tools, and cloud services
• Background in Linux networking including IP, iptables, and IPsec
• Hands-on experience with MySQL databases and private cloud environments
• Coding and scripting skills, preferably in Perl, Python, or Golang
• Fluent English communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience implementing cloud services on Linux using KVM/QEMU
• Familiarity with container orchestration technology
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases, especially Aerospike
• Proficiency in Perl and Golang programming languages
• Understanding of Galera cluster operations
• Working experience with MariaDB or Percona
• Experience with data center related activities
