The HSE site leads role therefore requires developing an overall HSE strategy for the site and at the same time lead and provide expertise in the HSE function, managing key KPIs and deliverables at an internal manufacturing site to foster world-class performance and a strong safety culture.
This role involves developing systems and skills for implementing HSE strategies, ensuring a safe, secure, and healthy work environment within the manufacturing plant. Responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to Mondelez's global HSE management systems through the creation and execution of strategic initiatives, plans, and gap assessments.
Additionally, this role offers leadership and support in HSE for both plant operations and brownfield projects and contributes to driving operational governance and management systems at the site.
Below are some of the key responsibilities of the role:
Oversee the implementation of HSE strategies and global standards, ensuring the effective execution of work processes to foster an interdependent culture. Conduct gap assessments and ensure corrective and preventive actions are addressed within specified timelines.
Collaborate with the site leadership team to design, implement, monitor, and update the annual site HSE plan.
Utilize Integrated Lean Sigma principles and proactive leadership to enhance HSE performance, aiming for Zero Harm and ensuring compliance and business effectiveness. Coach, influence and reinforce positive safety behaviour for all employees and contractors at site.
Lead internal and external gap assessments focusing on occupational health, ergonomics, personal and process safety, and environmental standards in alignment with Mondelez standards.
Oversee the Site Emergency Organization, develop tools and systems for effective emergency response, and organize mock drills to assess and improve the effectiveness of the Emergency Response Plan.
Create and implement strategies to achieve site sustainability objectives, addressing ESG commitments such as climate, water, waste, and social impact.
Guide employees on compliance matters, conduct internal audits, support external audits, and design corrective and preventive action plans. Ensure adherence to all site HSE regulatory obligations.
Participate and facilitate in incident/accident investigation using various std tools and support the development of corrective and preventive actions. Monitor the completion of these actions within stipulated timelines.
Ensure timely updates of HSE data and oversee the governance of HSE data, KPIs and trends. Develop action plans to manage short-term and long-term HSE risks, including environmental impact assessments and job safety analysis.
Facilitate training and communication initiatives to enhance employees' and partners' understanding and commitment to HSE compliance, with a focus on HSE management and statutory regulations.
Lead initiatives for risk management related to asset conservation and property loss control. Ensure timely corrective actions are taken based on third-party loss risk assessments and audits.
Lead and participate in design reviews for engineering projects to ensure that all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements, in accordance with Mondelez HSE standards, are addressed and integrated during the design phase.
Lead initiatives to share good practises within Mondelez and Peer industries to build world class HSE compliant infrastructure and practises.
Develop, budget, and oversee the annual capital and operational expenditures for HSE to support the execution of the HSE plan and ensure compliance with all internal and external standards.
