Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a senior pharma manufacturing leader to head a next-gen, highly automated facility in Ahmedabad. You will oversee Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, HR, Finance, and other functions, driving Industry 4.0 adoption and cGMP compliance.

You will lead a 400+ employee organization, manage budgets and CAPEX, and steer digital transformation, risk mitigation, and product launches to ensure superior site performance.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Proven track record leading large-scale manufacturing sites.
• Experience with greenfield projects from concept to operations.
• Strong exposure to automated manufacturing environments and smart factory tech.
• Deep understanding of cGMP, regulatory compliance, validation, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall site operations including Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, HR, Finance and support functions.
• Drive setup and operation of a highly automated smart manufacturing facility leveraging Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Ensure full compliance with cGMP, regulatory requirements, quality systems, and global audit standards.
• Drive productivity, process optimization, cost reduction, automation and excellence initiatives.
• Oversee production planning, capacity utilization, maintenance, supply chain coordination, and on-time delivery.
• Lead regulatory inspections, customer audits, quality reviews, CAPA implementation and data integrity programs.
• Build and mentor a high-performing workforce of 400+ employees and foster a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Own site budgets, CAPEX planning, technology transfers, new product launches, risk mitigation, and overall business performance.

The Successful Applicant

We're looking for someone who has:

• 18+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing with prior exposure to both Pharma and FMCG environments only
• Proven track record of leading large-scale manufacturing sites and managing cross-functional teams across Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, EHS, and Plant Administration.
• Hands-on experience in greenfield project execution from concept, design, and commissioning through to commercial operations.
• Strong exposure to highly automated manufacturing environments, digital transformation initiatives, and smart factory technologies.
• Deep understanding of cGMP, regulatory compliance, quality systems, validation, audits, and data integrity requirements.
• Demonstrated success in driving productivity improvement, operational excellence, cost optimization, and capacity expansion initiatives.
• Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing large workforces, developing high-performing teams, and fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Educational background in Engineering, Pharmacy, or Science, with the ability to operate strategically while maintaining strong operational oversight.
