Job description

We are looking for an experienced Provider Manager to help build the relationship with our supplier partners and drive our journey to the cloud. Candidates should have experience in managing the performance of providers delivering Application Managed Services in an IT organization.

Candidates are further expected to help the organization develop its provider management best practices. Our focus is on performance management and provider governance to guarantee best quality services to our customers.

This position is reporting to the Head of Operational Provider Management 2 and will work in a global team with colleagues in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. This position will require occasional travel, including international travel.

What part will you play?
  1. Develop and supervise performance management of our major IT providers, based on contractual obligations and customer expectations for projects, application management and development services covering the full range from on-premise to SaaS.
  2. Implement our provider governance and performance management framework for contracts with IT providers and manage the continuous monitoring of providers’ performance, SLA adherence and obligations. Promote continuous optimization and transparency in order to support best-in-class service delivery.
  3. Set up and manage periodic performance management boards on department and unit level, to manage the relationship with external IT service providers from a commercial, performance and contractual perspective.
  4. Manage escalations and disputes regarding provider performance and contractual obligations, as well as financial clarifications. Oversee provider compliance with IT service management requirements and initiate improvement and innovation plans with providers.
  5. Liaise with provider and Siemens senior management, Siemens service management, provider service delivery management, supply chain and legal functions.
  6. Further develop and mature provider management best practices.
  7. Act as a mentor and coach to the provider management team and further develop the skills of the international team. Act as coach to service management for general sourcing and provider management topics.
  8. Manage large and strategic tenders as a project manager or support as a subject matter expert.
What you need to make real what matters
  1. Strong background in IT provider management, especially performance management, escalation management, and governance.
  2. Experience in service level management, e.g., definition, implementation, and monitoring, as well as service-credit handling.
  3. IT domain know-how like e.g., ERP system consolidation (e.g., cloud migration, carve-in, carve out), salesforce, low code platforms, portal technologies, cybersecurity, hyper scalers like MS Azure, AWS, etc.
  4. Self-driven, result-oriented, able to work independently based on targets, proactive team player, strong decision-making skills.
  5. Entrepreneurial thinking and ability to develop and consider business cases and to manage financial impacts and related risks.
  6. Able to motivate and lead people with or without formal authority, e.g. in project environment.
  7. Fluent English, with the ability to negotiate contractual clauses.
  8. Knowledge and experience with IT service management, service delivery, ITIL, IT project management, Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum), IT providers & market, and respective methodologies. Respective certifications are a plus.
  9. Experience in tendering and tender management and/or other sourcing activities. Contract management knowledge is a plus.
  10. International experience with global projects and collaboration with intercultural teams, preferably 5 years in international environment.
  11. Effective communicator, good interpersonal relationship skills in an international and intercultural environment including mediation skills, influencer, strong analytical skills, track record in problem-solving and managing escalations.
