Job summary

Autoliv is seeking a skilled maintenance professional to join our manufacturing team in India. You will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment, utilities and facilities within a dynamic automotive environment.

Responsibilities include preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis and collaboration with production, engineering, quality and safety teams to minimize downtime and uphold high performance standards.

Qualifications

  • Technical professionals with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, repair and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in an automotive, engineering or high-volume manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and technical documentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and restore production operations safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect, test and maintain manufacturing equipment, tools, utilities and facility systems.
  • Support installation, commissioning and validation of new machinery and production lines.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and availability.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns and equipment history.
  • Follow maintenance schedules, SOPs and technical instructions.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring failures.
  • Work with Production, Engineering, Quality and EH&S teams.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.
  • Apply lockout/tagout and permit-to-work procedures.

About The Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated maintenance professional to join our manufacturing team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of production equipment, machinery, utilities and facilities within a dynamic automotive manufacturing environment.

The position involves carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing equipment faults, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and collaborating with production, engineering, quality and safety teams to minimize downtime and maintain high standards of operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment faults.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and restore production operations safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect, test and maintain manufacturing equipment, tools, utilities and facility systems.
  • Support installation, commissioning and validation of new machinery and production lines.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and availability.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, spare parts and equipment history.
  • Follow maintenance schedules, standard operating procedures and technical instructions.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring failures.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality and Environmental, Health and Safety teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements and applicable health and safety standards.
  • Apply safe isolation, lockout/tagout and permit-to-work procedures when carrying out maintenance activities.
  • Manage maintenance tools, instruments, consumables and critical spare parts.
  • Support continuous improvement, 5S, lean manufacturing and equipment optimization activities.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operators and other maintenance team members.
Key Deliverables
  • High availability and reliability of production equipment.
  • Reduction in unplanned downtime and repeat equipment failures.
  • Completion of preventive maintenance activities within agreed schedules.
  • Safe and timely resolution of equipment breakdowns.
  • Accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and reports.
  • Successful installation and commissioning of new equipment and processes.
  • Compliance with maintenance, quality and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Contribution to continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
Experience
Required Experience & Expertise
  • Relevant experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance or engineering support.
  • Experience in an automotive, engineering or high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with maintenance management systems and technical documentation.
  • Experience supporting production lines, automated equipment or industrial machinery preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical diagrams and equipment manuals.
  • Understanding of PLCs, sensors, drives, motors and industrial control systems.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Ability to use maintenance tools, measuring instruments and diagnostic equipment.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis, fault finding and problem-solving methods.
  • Working knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Basic computer skills, including maintenance reporting and Microsoft Office applications.
