Job summary

Autoliv in India seeks a dynamic AMG Team Lead (Associate/Deputy Manager) to own end-to-end production performance in a fast-paced, global manufacturing environment. You will lead daily operations, drive lean initiatives, and embed the Autoliv Production System (APS) across plants while ensuring safety, quality, and efficient delivery.

Ideal candidates bring 12–15 years in production management, preferably in automotive or multi-product settings, with strong leadership and problem-solving

About The Role

We are looking for an AMG Team Lead (Associate / Deputy Manager) to own and drive end-to-end production line performance in a high-paced, global manufacturing environment.

This role is ideal for a hands-on production leader with strong process knowledge, lean manufacturing expertise, and proven experience in the automobile industry within an MNC culture.

You will be responsible for ensuring excellence across Health & Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Delivery (P/Q/C/D) while embedding the Autoliv Production System (APS) across operations.

What You’ll Do
Production and Operations Leadership
  • Lead daily production operations and ensure smooth execution aligned with APS standards
  • Ensure manpower planning, resource optimization, and adherence to standard work instructions
  • Monitor production performance and drive recovery actions in case of deviations
  • Run daily production meetings and elevate critical issues effectively
Performance and Process Excellence
  • Drive productivity improvement projects and cost optimization initiatives
  • Implement Lean tools such as JIT, Jidoka, Line Balancing, Andon, Visual Controls, and Kaizen
  • Conduct MOST time studies, manpower reduction analysis, and layout optimization
  • Develop and maintain Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and process standardization
Quality and Compliance
  • Analyze quality reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Lead FMEA, QA networking, and quality circle activities for new process setups
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, safety, and environmental standards
Continuous Improvement and APS Deployment
  • Champion APS implementation and best practice sharing across plants
  • Lead sub-region performance improvement initiatives and policy deployment
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
Team and People Development
  • Build and develop a high-performing team with defined skill profiles and training plans
  • Collaborate with HR for training effectiveness and capability building
  • Promote a “one team, one company” mindset
Stakeholder and Customer Engagement
  • Communicate performance metrics and ensure alignment with Autoliv business targets
  • Engage with customers to build strong, long-term relationships
What You Bring
Experience
  • 12–15 years of production management experience in an assembly/process industry
  • Experience in multi-product, multi-customer environments
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot process-related issues independently
  • Experience in automotive or MNC manufacturing setups is essential
Technical and Functional Skills
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and world-class manufacturing
  • Hands‑on experience with process optimization and production systems
  • Knowledge of FMEA, MOST, VSM, JIT, Jidoka, and quality systems
Education
  • Diploma with 15–18 years experience, or
  • B.E. (Mechanical / Automobile) with 12–15 years experience
  • Additional training in Safety is a plus
