Job summary

SonataSoftware, an AI-first modernization engineering company, seeks a Principal Solution Architect / SharePoint SME in Bengaluru to lead architecture, migration, and modernization of large-scale SharePoint environments across hybrid, cloud, and on-premises deployments.

You will guide engineering teams, engage with senior stakeholders, and drive governance, security, and Microsoft 365 integrations while delivering advisory services to enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 15+ years IT experience with SharePoint and Microsoft technologies.
• Hands-on and architectural experience with SharePoint Online and SharePoint On-Premises.
• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale SharePoint solutions.
• Strong knowledge of SharePoint architecture, security, governance, search, content management, and integration.
• Proven experience with SharePoint migration and modernization.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Experience with Power Platform and SharePoint customization is preferred.
• Strong customer-facing consulting and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead complex technical engagements independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead SharePoint architecture, solution design, modernization, migration, and technical strategy for enterprise customers.
• Design scalable and secure SharePoint Online and SharePoint On-Premises solutions.
• Conduct customer discovery sessions, architecture workshops, assessments, and design reviews.
• Lead SharePoint migration and modernization initiatives from legacy SharePoint environments to SharePoint Online.
• Define SharePoint information architecture, governance, security, permissions, content management, and site architecture.
• Provide technical leadership for complex SharePoint incidents, performance issues, and production challenges.
• Review existing SharePoint environments and identify opportunities for cloud adoption, modernization, optimization, and automation.
• Provide technical governance, best practices, standards, and mentoring to engineering teams.
• Work with Microsoft 365, Azure, Security, Identity, and other technology teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Communicate architecture decisions, technical risks, recommendations, and roadmaps to senior customer stakeholders.
