Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a ServiceNow Developer to drive end-to-end quality across Security Operations, Vulnerability Response, and IAM risk management. You will translate business needs into functional requirements, develop and test solutions, and guide stakeholders through UAT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of IT experience including at least 4 years of ServiceNow.
• Strong GRC domain knowledge and familiarity with Security Operations, Vulnerability Response, IRM, BCM, and Third-Party Risk.
• Hands-on ServiceNow Security Operations and Vulnerability Response, incl. integrations with scanning tools.
• Experience with defect-tracking and test-case management; CI/CD/DevOps-aware.
• Agile development experience; strong relational DB knowledge (MySQL/SQL Server/Oracle).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality ServiceNow solutions across multiple modules.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements and validate fixes.
• Lead testing efforts: test plans, test cases, and defect management.
• Coordinate with offshore/onshore teams and stakeholders; drive UAT and metrics.

About the role

As a ServiceNow Developer, you will drive impactful contributions and focus on outcomes. You will ensure the end-to-end quality of solutions implemented across ServiceNow capabilities, including Security Operations, Vulnerability Response, Integrated Risk Management, Business Continuity Management, and Third-Party Risk Management.

You will collaborate with development teams, business teams, customers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into functional requirements, improve workflows, troubleshoot issues, and deliver high-quality ServiceNow solutions.

In this role, you will:

• Develop, maintain, and execute quality test plans and test cases covering unit, functional, integration, system, regression, and performance testing.
• Execute quality-testing activities for new solutions, enhancements, and defects. Manage identified defects and work closely with development teams to validate fixes.
• Map business needs to functional requirements and ensure that ServiceNow solutions meet applicable quality standards.
• Guide stakeholders through user acceptance testing, including test-case execution and documentation. Analyze test results and produce appropriate testing metrics.
• Review designs, testing scenarios, and test cases for usability and application quality. Troubleshoot functional and technical issues, support releases and upgrades, and contribute to ServiceNow configuration and platform customization.

What you must have to be considered

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of IT experience, including at least 4 years of ServiceNow experience.
• Strong GRC domain knowledge and functional knowledge of ServiceNow Security Operations, Vulnerability Response, Integrated Risk Management, Business Continuity Management, and Third-Party Risk Management.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Security Operations and Vulnerability Response, including integrations with scanning tools such as Prisma Cloud and Qualys.
• Experience with defect-tracking and test-case management tools.
• Experience developing automation scripts for regression test suites.
• Experience with SDLC and STLC processes, including client-requirement analysis, system design, and test-case design.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Knowledge of relational databases, including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.
• Proficiency in GRC concepts, policies, and compliance areas.
• Strong understanding of defect-management processes, software-testing techniques, and testing strategies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, time-management, and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Experience collaborating with geographically distributed customers, stakeholders, and onshore and offshore teams.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead assignments or teams, mentor others, and support team development.
• Strong presentation skills, with the ability to lead discussions with business leaders and stakeholders.
